ABSTRACT: In this talk I will present and discuss the results from one of my PhD case studies: Heath Wood - the only known Viking cremation cemetery in the British Isles. As we are looking at a period of high mobility in history, the focus lies on the analysis of strontium isotopes in the cremated remains of a small number of people and animals, and on what those isotopes can reveal to us about these individuals.
