For the 2025 Docville Scientific documentary, the directors Maria and Frederik Stut filmed Dr. Cem Berk Senel at the Royal Observatory of Belgium on Wednesday (with Dr. Özgür Karatekin and Dr. Orkun Temel partly joining) and at VUB-AMGC on Thursday. The documentary focuses on huge volume of dust produced by the Chicxulub impact in Yucatan as the main cause of the global changes that led to the mass extinction of the dinosaurs, together with ~ 60% of the Earth fauna and flora 66 millions years ago, at the end of the Cretaceous.
After field work in the US Western Interior, Cem is now playing with partial differential equations, and model planets (see images below).
