
Dr. Carlos Leónidas Leiva
Biography
Dr. Carlos Leónidas Leiva is a biotechnologist with expertise in the research of biologicals for therapeutic and diagnostic use. In particular, his PhD project focused on the development of egg yolk antibodies to neutralize animal toxins. This project was carried out with the participation of two major scientific institutions from Argentina, the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA) and the National Laboratories and Health Institutes Administration (ANLIS). As a post-doc, he worked in the production of monoclonal antibody biosimilars at the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) in Italy. Currently, he is an imπACT postdoc at VUB working at the interface of environmental sciences, immunology, and technology transfer.
