Jérôme Roland
Biography
Jérôme defended with success his PhD thesis on Jan. 17, 2024 on the topic of condensation processes in impact generated vapor plumes.
RESEARCH SUMMARY:
The goal of my PhD is to track impact-induced vapor plumes in the early solar system by measuring the resulting isotope fractionation in order to understand the physico-chemical conditions within those plumes. CB and CH chondrites are considered to be condensates from these plumes and the ideal material to investigate. The resulting isotope fractionation of moderately volatile to refractory elements such as Zn, Cu, Ga, Fe, and Ni present in those meteorites will help us to better understand the vaporization and condensation processes that took place in the early solar system.
