We’re excited to announce the International Workshop on Archaeological Soil Micromorphology and Phytoliths, taking place 20–22 May 2026 at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Belgium.
Organised by the AMGC-VUB and IPAS (University of Basel), this informal yet highly collaborative workshop offers hands-on access to 16 petrographic microscopes (including 3 with fluorescence) for participants to examine their own thin sections. With no oral presentations—just a poster session—the focus remains on microscopy, discussion, and knowledge exchange among geoarchaeology professionals and enthusiasts.
