LOCO: The LOw COuntries – Crossroads of Europe from the Neolithic to the Late Middle Ages

Education

I studied Archaeological Science at Leiden University (NL), with a specialisation in osteoarchaeology and isotope analysis of human remains. I have worked on two multi-isotope projects at Leiden University, investigating diet and mobility at the sites of Late to post-Medieval Koudekerke (Zeeland, NL) for my MSc thesis, and Early Medieval Dorestad (Utrecht, NL) as a research assistant. These projects involved strontium, oxygen, carbon, nitrogen and sulphur isotope analysis. In January 2026, I started as a joint PhD candidate at the VUB and UGent as part of the LOCO project.
