Biography
In 2022 I graduated from my Bachelor at the University of Bologna in Anthropology, Religions, and Eastern Civilities with a theses on the significance of squares during the Middle Ages. During these years, I have always tried to integrate my History and Cultural Anthropology studies with Archaeology subject in order to pursue a master’s degree on this subject.
I found in the course of Applied Sciences to Cultural Heritage, Materials and Sites, at University of Padua, the perfect balance between archaeological and scientific studies, allowing me to further explore and investigate the different branches of Archaeology. My interest focalized, in particular, over Geoarchaeology and Micromorphology. I learned how to prepare, analyse and describe thin sections, to understand the chemical and physical changes of soils and sediments, and how to interpret them. In the meanwhile, I started my excavation experience firstly in a Bronze Age site in Northen Italy, and the also performing some evaluating coring.
I, then, decided to apply for Erasmus at University of Tübingen, as I would have found more interesting courses that could have implemented my knowledge. I was able to learn about organics elements in archaeological contexts, sedimentary processes, archaeobotanical and anthracological residues.
Once I returned to Padua, I started working at my Master thesis: a geoarchaeological study of a Neolithic soil from a site in Trentino Alto-Adige (Italy). During this I was able to apply my studies. I performed micromorphological description and a series of granulometries in order to interpret the history of the site, with the help of C14 analysis.
On August 2025 I moved to Bussels in order to start my new job as Assistant Researcher in Micromorphology. Here, my task was to analyse and describe thin sections that come from the city of Brussel and its surroundings.
