Biography
Short Bio
I studied archaeology and Egyptology at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, where I received my first bachelor’s and master’s in Archaeology. During my studies, I worked on archaeological excavations at various places in Belgium and Egypt. Subsequently, I received my second master's degree in Digital Humanities from KU Leuven in 2021. After graduating, I worked in commercial archaeology at Studiebureau Archeologie bv. in Tienen.
In 2022, I enrolled at Leiden University where I received my third master's degree in Archaeology in the summer of 2023, specializing in Human Osteoarcheology. I returned to commercial archaeology working at INDAR Archeologie & Advies until I started my PhD research within the interdisciplinary Make Up of the Cities Project at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in February 2025. In my research, I will apply osteological and palaeopathological analysis on human remains from five medieval urban centres in Belgium to study the make-up of these past societies.
