Professor Martine Leermakers held a training course for VUB and UGent Master students in Environmental Chemistry on board of the new RV Belgica in March 2023.
Students learned to use oceanographic equipments and understand aquatic geochemical processes. The sailed from the North Sea along the Schelde to Antwerp and back making numerous measurements and observations. They also collected seawater and sediments to further examine in the lab.
