Xavier Agulló Máñez
Biography
Born in Alcoi (Alcoi), my passion for archaeology was sparked at an early age by the rich historical landscape of my home region. While my fieldwork spans diverse chronological periods, my research focuses heavily on the Iron Age and the Roman world. I am driven by a desire to understand how ancient societies interacted with their environment, combining traditional fieldwork with advanced scientific methodologies to reconstruct past human experiences.

Research project
The Iberian Iron Age Peasantry in the Southeastern Iberian Peninsula: A Multi-Scale and Multi-Analytical Approach to Agricultural and Husbandry Practices.
This doctoral research aims to reconstruct the socio-economic reality of the Iberian peasantry in the southeastern Iberian Peninsula during the Iron Age. Often overshadowed by elite-centric narratives, the rural communities and their daily subsistence strategies are core to understanding the socio-political dynamics of the Iberian culture.
