Benjamin Avakian is a PhD student funded by Eutopia program between the Departement Geosciences et Environnement at CY Cergy-Paris Université and AMGC-VUB working withe Profs Béatrice Ledesert, Philippe Claeys and Steven Goderis.
The European Geothermal PhD Days was held on the TU Delft campus from 3-5 April 2024 and gathered all PhD students working on geothermal topics.
His thesis focuses on reconstructing the evolution of fluids pathways to better understand heat/electricity production in the Upper Rhine Graben geothermal reservoirs (Alsace, France). Benjamin is using clumped isotopes and trace elements measured by µXRF and ICP-MS to understand fluid flows.
Excellent job, well deserved award Benjamin.
